Perseverance in Persecution and God's Righteous Judgment

2 Thessalonians 1:1-12

1
Chapter 1
1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, just as is worthy, because your faith superabounds and the love of each one of you all abounds toward one another, 4 so that we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your endurance and faith in all your persecutions and the tribulations which you endure. 5 a proof of God's righteous judgment, so that you may be deemed worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer, 6 if indeed it is just with God to repay tribulation to those who are tribulating you 7 and to you who are oppressed, relief with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power 8 in flaming fire, giving vindication to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus, 9 who will pay justice, eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his power, 10 when he comes to be glorified among his holy ones and to be marveled at among all those who believed, because our testimony to you was believed, on that day. 11 for which we also always pray for you, that our God may deem you worthy of the calling and fulfill every good pleasure of goodness and work of faith in power, 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus might be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.
